The Porsche 911 is a two-door, 2+2 high performance sports car made since 196] by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a rear-mounted six cylinder boxer engine and all round independent suspension. It has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained little changed. The engines were air-cooled until the introduction of the Type 996 in 1998, with Porsche’s “993” series, produced in model years 1994-1998, being the last of the air-cooled Porsches.
The model we are working on dates from the mid-eighties, the owner wanted to retain the reliability of the later models but add the styling from earlier cars. Singer Vehicle Design are well known for doing this sort of work. Our project is starting to take shape, the dark grey really sets off the tan interior and orange details perfectly.
There are lots of custom features such as the colour coded tacho, gold targa badge and basket-weave pattern seats in tan leather. All this combined makes a very striking and unique vehicle
More photos will follow as the project progresses, the car has been a real priviledge to work on
Progress has been steady over the last few weeks; the door trims have now been fitted meaning that the interior is almost complete
